HELLO DOLLY!

"Fox's new DVD of Hello, Dolly! is the most perfectly produced DVD I've yet seen derived from a film (especially large format) produced over thirty years ago. ... the image and audio could easily have been corrupted somewhere along the production and replication line, and were not.

Hello, Dolly! is a perfect DVD; a perfect representation of Mr. Kelly's work; 
a magnificent DVD of a large format film -- the last of the huge budget 70mm musicals.

This DVD is the first of its type that I've seen that I can rate as at a full 100%.

"The biggest challenge ... was to make the constant use of ADR match the sound recorded on the set. ...the ADR tracks were carefully "smoothed over" to make everything balance...the...film was presented in DTS's 'special venue' format which exactly recreates the sound spread of the 50s and 60s 70mm films. There were five channels across the front and a mono surround. When I heard the blast on the Entr'acte music after the interval, I felt like I was back in one of the old movie palaces of my youth. I haven't had that feeling in years and it was more than welcome after the several disappointments of recent years. ...you could close your eyes and point out every instrument in the orchestra.
